This organization may do good work with the community - cars were lined up in advance to receive food and I am sure they appreciate having this as an option.
In terms of volunteering? Not so much. They claim to be welcoming and non-discriminatory, but my Black son signed up to volunteer as a way to give back to the community and work off speeding ticket fines. He received an email confirming his participation. He arrived ready and willing to work. I dropped him off and called the contact number to find out where he should report. My son was told immediately that he could not help - that helping was only for church congregation members. Personally, it smacks of someone making assumptions about my son due to his race or the term "community service". My son was willing to work the entire day (1:30-7pm) to assist. He is hardworking and cheerful. The church claims to "value diversity" but I guess they could do without two extra Black hands that were plenty young and strong.
