Society will provide members with the ability to better understand investments across all asset classes, with Cash Equities as a foundation, later moving to more structured investments.
Members will have the opportunity to participate in extensive discussions about investments, alternatives, and their returns.
Materials will be provided on Sakai, where students will be able to view various documents, view links to commentary by investment professionals, and participate in online discussions.
Members will be able to meet investment professionals on the UB campus, from local hedge funds, local stock trading firms, investment managers, investment banks, and energy trading firms.
Members will learn how to trade various assets though trading simulators, and other financial tools, including Bloomberg.
Members will also have the ability to receive discounted Financial Times (FT) and Wall Street Journal (WSJ), where articles will be selected, and discussed with the group. Additionally, members will learn how to decipher the financial markets section, to better understand the daily movements in the financial markets.
Members will provide community help through fundraising or provide volunteering services where required, on an on-going basis.
