Description

HOCT's mission is to connect people to high quality volunteer experiences while addressing critical community issues. United Way and Hands On Central Texas bring people and resources together to create opportunities for individuals, families and neighborhoods to prosper. We provide a starting point for engagement, from connecting volunteers from our corporate, cultural, faith-based communities in innovative action through education on community issues and citizen forums to engaging youth and families in sharing the service experience to building capacity with community-based organizations through educational and in-kind resources. This movement will lead to greater participation in civic engagement and will build community in every sense, generating social capital crucial for healthy civic life. Our motto: Be the Change. We want Central Texans to be the change they want to see in the world
