Mission Statement

Randolph county youth are provided opportunity to bridge the digital divide, to play and learn in a safe adult supervised activity. Currently one lab is open at the Allendale community center, the second to open soon on West End Street. Although this program is just starting it is growing. The Afterschool Computer Lab Program is in a position to grow to include more communities with grants, donations and volunteers.

Description

4-H Afterschool is a collaborative effort of the Cooperative Extension System and 4-H. 4-H is a volunteer-led organization that reaches boys and girls through small groups called clubs and sometimes in classrooms. This project use hands-on learning experiences to teach computer and life-skills such as cooperation, leadership, and decision-making -- these are skills that can be applied over and over for a lifetime. The Afterschool Computer Lab Program is a part of the 4-H Afterschool initiative, is meeting important community priorities by providing safe, healthy, enriching after-school activities that enable youth to have fun while developing lifelong skills.
