Mission Statement

It is the mission of I AM SOMEBODY.org to provide an unbiased and nonjudgmental mechanism for creative expression: a place of respect for contributors viewpoints, to acknowledge the many heroes and heroines among us and to commemorate non-survivors. Therefore, it is our goal to offer anyone impacted by a national calamity or major social injustice, a community in which to be seen and heard, to facilitate their healing and to document individual experiences so that history will never forget. I AM SOMEBODY.org will give a voice to those who feel voiceless, a face to those who feel faceless.

Description

Facilitating awareness, inspiration and change I AM SOMEBODY.org was borne out of the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. The project was initiated with the intention of providing a vehicle of expression for victims, survivors, first-respondents and relief workers. It is our goal to launch and establish an online repository where those most impacted by the Hurricane may chronicle their experiences, share their thoughts, and express their feelings.
