Mission Statement

The LondonBRC Project’s goal is to bring the iconic structures of London’s Houses of Parliament, Tower Bridge and Tower of London to the Playa of Black Rock City as a fully functioning interactive art installation for Burning Man 2013. With the hope of incorporating the integral elements of these landmarks into the landscape of community, culture and core principles that is The Burning Man Project.

The crew behind the project, The En!gma Crew, is lead by the project’s lead artist, Alan McCann (aka "Doof") and project lead coordinator, Tillman Frick, out of Reno, Nevada. The rest of the En!gma crew behind the build is comprised of individuals from varied backgrounds and skill sets, across the US from Reno to Houston to New York, and overseas in both the UK and China.

  • The Houses of Parliament is designed to be planned as a 4 story structure, with Ye Olde Ale House (no alcohol to be served), a working indoor Theatre/Cinema, art rooms and corridors lined with portraits of famous Royals and characters from British history, all donated by artists from around the world. The most exciting aspect of this structure will be a fully functioning House of Commons, to be used for both planned and open discussion forums by the public to discuss relevant topics from world matters to Burning man itself.

  • The Tower of London will be home to a dungeon, theatrical style brothel, a history room telling tales of the Tower of London and other historical facts and photos. The tower will also be designed with a flat roof to be used as a large viewing platform for all.

  • Tower Bridge will connect both The Houses of Parliament and Tower of London on the 1st floor, with a working bridge built to lift allowing art car passage under the bridge at certain times of day. The bridge itself will also showcase performance art incorporating a number of different artists and groups on the Playa.

We believe our team has designed a unique and multifaceted plan for this project, with the hope of providing an interactive art installation for attendees to experience and explore throughout the duration of the festival for Burning Man 2013.
