Mission Statement

It is our mission to provide a volunteer Guardian ad Litem for every Anderson child who is involved in an abuse and neglect case in Family Court. 84 children were turned away from the program in FY 2008-2009 due to a lack of trained volunteers. We believe these children deserve a positive, effective advocate to be their voice in the system.

Abused and neglected children need a person who is willing to stand up for them and be their voice. Our program trains everyday citizens to be that voice. We provide staff support and supervision, but the person who makes the difference is the volunteer who connects with that child. A caring, compassionate adult who is willing to make a committment to a child can change a child's life.

I have been a volunteer guardian ad litem for almost a year. I love helping children that truly need the help from people in the community. The Guardian Ad Litem staff is amazing at what they do and they always make sure that all volunteers are recognized for the things that we do. I have never been around an organization that is this welcoming to people of all walks of life. I plan to volunteer with this organization for many years. They are truly For The Children!

The training proivded to the volunteers is excellent and the support provided by the paid office staff is top notch. It is important and rewarding work to volunteer with this organization.
