Mission Statement

The Anchor Program (TAP) is a 501(c) (3) non-profit service organization that provides vocational and life skills training to youth (minimum age 16) and others interested in pursuing careers in the maritime industry. The primary goal of the program is to prepare participants for positions in the merchant marine. Additional maritime training opportunities are also available.

Description

We are an organization that does job training for positions in the maritime industry. We do the training on a ship that is docked in Jack London Square Oakland California. The ship is a retried US Coast Guard Lightship. The ship is open for tours on the weekend, and training and maintenance is done on week days.
