Mission Statement

To advance the independence, productivity and full citizenship of people affected by cerebral palsy and other disabilities.

Description

Equipment Loan: Loans and grants of durable medical equipment such as wheelchairs and walkers to people with any disability. Information/Referrral and Follow-Along: Information and referral for services appropriate to individuals with disabilities and their families. Special Friends: A bowling league for children and adults with disabilities. Among Friends Activity Center: A program to aid in socialization of adults with disabilities. Activities include games, bowling, crafts, music, community outings and much more. Directors Fund: When funding permits, small grants for emergency assistance for items such as adaptive aids, diapers, specialized infant formulas, critical medications, burial expenses, emergency rental costs and emergency respite. Moms' and Dads' Support Group: A collaborative effort with the Tulsa ARC. A support group for parents and grandparents of children with disabilities. Our Special Children: Tulsa area support group for Hispanic families with children with disabilities. Northcliff Gardens: Sponsored by UCP in collaboration with the Norman Housing Authority. A HUD Section 202 Housing complex consisting of 44 living units for low income elderly.
