Description

Mentors and mentees meet at GHS during the day and after school for weekly activities (i.e. creative arts, games, guest speakers, academic tutoring, etc.), field trips and community service projects.

Goals for incoming and repeat 9th grade students who participate in the Mentoring Program include:

-Attendance: Attend school daily; attend and participate in all assigned classes

-Academic Performance: Complete all school and homework assignments; complete school projects. Learn and Develop good study habits

-School Involvement: Participate in school extra curricular activities that strengthen commitment to school

-Career Planning: Participate in activities that provide exposure to post-secondary education and career paths

-Personal Grouth: Develop positive relationships with peer(s), teacher(s), family and the community at large
