Mission Statement

Green@Home helps fight climate change one HouseCall at a time by connecting trained volunteers with local residents to perform home energy assessments and simple upgrades that reduce energy use. Our goal is to work with our communtiy to educate people about energy conservation while also helping them to save money.

Description

Acterra's Green@Home trains volunteers to become Energy Experts and perform free energy-saving HouseCalls for residents in Cupertino and Palo Alto. Trained volunteers provide energy assessments and install free energy-saving devices, such as:

· retractable clotheslines

· weatherstipping

· faucet aerators

· low-flow showerheads and aerators

Green@Home volunteer trainings consist of two, 4-hour classes.

Each HouseCall is approximately 2 hours long and volunteers work in pairs. We ask those who complete the training to volunteer for approximately two HouseCalls a month with a minimum of 10 HouseCalls over the course of the year. You must be over 18 to participate.

We are a group of dedicated volunteers and staff, committed to fighting climate change by educating our neighbors about energy conservation. We help them save money, too!
