Mission Statement
â To provide a safe, child friendly environment for supervised visitation, custodial/non-custodial exchanges, and education relevant to the development of healthy parent-child relationshipsâ
Description
Hope House provides a safe, neutral, child-friendly, homelike environment for children and families. Parents are ordered by Domestic Relations Court (in cases of domestic violence, assault, felonies) or Juvenile Court (in cases of child abuse, abandonment, neglect or child sexual abuse) to visit with the non-residential parent, both parents, and/or other family members while being monitored in a safe, supervised setting. It is also a site for drop-off and pick-up of children in cases where parents, who do not get along and thus cause unnecessary stress to their children, can exchange their children in a safe, supervised, neutral place. Mahoning County Children Services Agency also utilizes Hope House for their family visitations, teen support groups, and parenting classes.
