Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. The Camp Fire in Northern California -- one of three blazing across the state -- is the most destructive in state history. We want to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you find access to shelter. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know the most effective ways to contribute.

The ReStore is a fundraising arm of Paterson Habitat for Humanity. We sell donated materials to the public in our Wayne location including new and gently used furniture, appliances and building material. Our prices reflect significant savings compared to retail prices, sometimes as much as 80%! All ReStore profits are used toward Habitat for Humanity’s mission to end substandard housing in our community and worldwide. ReStore resale outlets provide an environmentally and socially responsible way to keep good, reusable materials out of the waste stream while providing funding for Habitat’s community improvement work. Paterson Habitat for Humanity creates homeownership opportunities for families with limited income. We are committed to building decent, safe affordable homes that are energy efficient, environmentally responsible and economical to maintain. Join us as we continue to revitalize neighborhoods by building hope with homes.
Volunteers are needed to help clean and display donations, move furniture, work cash register and research pricing on the internet. We are looking for volunteers who are able to make a regular or semi-regular commitment. Our store and our tasks require a little training and getting used to so we are looking for people who can commit to once a week, or once a month, or even a few times a week. Our time slots are from 10:00 am to 5:00 p.m. and you have the option of working either morning (10:00-1:30) or afternoon (1:30-5:00) We have Orientations on Thursdays at 2:00 p.m. and Saturday at 11:00 p.m. Once you attend an orientation, you can volunteer when ever you want!
