Description

Our purpose is to coordinate efforts: To help adults develop the ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently. To help the public understand the economic and social impact of adult literacy. To increase community awareness and visibility of adult literacy resources. To increase community involvement and business support. To coordinate the recruitment, training, and retention of tutors and the recruitment and retention of learners. To increase financial resources to meet adult literacy needs. To strengthen and sustain the capacity of all local literacy councils in Polk County.
