A nonprofit affordable housing development, management and resident services organization Homework & Activities Club Volunteer Position Description Purpose The position of Homework Club Tutor supports Eden Housing Resident Services Inc.Ã Â¢Ã Â Ã Â s After-school program for children/youth ages 5 to 15. This program is designed to help our resident children/youth with their homework, provide activities and expose them to positive recreational and social activities. Children also benefit from the use of our computer lab at each site. Time Commitment: 1 School Year (preferable) The Homework & Activities Club runs three days a week at Victoria Green Apartments (163 Paradise Drive Hercules, CA. 94547) for 2 Ã Â Ã Â½ hours each day. The position requires between 3 hours and 9 hours per week, with the most involvement required from September to November and January to June. Position Summary Assists Homework Club staff in providing quality tutoring and assistance for school age residents of Victoria Green Apartments. Major Responsibilities Ã Â¯Ã Â Ã Â§ Welcomes students to the Homework Club Ã Â¯Ã Â Ã Â§ Helps students understand and organize their homework assignments Ã Â¯Ã Â Ã Â§ Guides students in completing their homework Ã Â¯Ã Â Ã Â§ Encourages and supports the efforts of students to complete homework in a timely and accurate fashion Ã Â¯Ã Â Ã Â§ Helps program staff ensure that students stay focused and complete their tasks Ã Â¯Ã Â Ã Â§ Helps program staff in leading activities Ã Â¯Ã Â Ã Â§ Along with the Computer Lab staff, assists students in learning how to use computers to help with their homework Qualifications Ã Â¯Ã Â Ã Â§ Experience and/or desire to work with children and make a difference in their lives Ã Â¯Ã Â Ã Â§ Must be a team player Ã Â¯Ã Â Ã Â§ Good communication skills Ã Â¯Ã Â Ã Â§ Patience Ã Â¯Ã Â Ã Â§ Must be available during after school hours Ã Â¯Ã Â Ã Â§ Great for High School Students to receive community service hours Please contact Josephine E.
