Through DonorsChoose.org, Mrs. Carbajal's third grade class is able to obtain donations for materials needed in the classroom.

DonorsChoose.org engages the public in public schools by giving people a simple, accountable and personal way to address educational inequity.

It is the DonorsChoose vision to to view a nation where children in every community have the tools and experiences needed for an excellent education.

Description

The students in my third grade class love to learn. They attend an at-risk school in which over 60% of our population receives free-and-reduced lunch. These kids often rely on thier experiences at school to better prepare them for the real world. Many of them do not have the luxury to have a library in their homes, better yet computer and other technology resources. It is when they come to school that they are able to indulge in books, reference materials, and utilize the benefits of technology.
