Our mission at THE ONE LESS FOUNDATION is to help under-served members of the community become one less individual or family remaining in poverty by teaching financial education through seminars and classes and providing one-on-one mentoring and life coaching and in-school programs.
THE ONE LESS FOUNDATION has four primary programs: Financial Literacy & Capability Classes, Life Coaching for adults, Mentoring for youths and in-school programs.
The Financial Literacy & Capability courses last for six (6) weeks, with each participant meeting for once a week for a 90-minute class.
The Life Coaching program last for three (3) months, with each participant meeting with their assigned coach or mentor once a week.
Our RISE Mentoring program last for a full academic year, with students remaining in the program their entire high school years and on into college.
We also have in-school programs which are taught as a regular once a week class to students in local schools.
Our organization also does advocacy work on the state and Federal level.
The One Less Foundation is a remarkable program, dedicated as they are informed about poverty and its alleviation. The workers are friendly and committed, both to the people they work with and their volunteers. Any questions are always answered, though I rarely had questions simply because the people I worked with were very informative in the first place. I've had a wonderful experience volunteering with The One Less Foundation and can't recommend it enough to others.
