Mission Statement

The Buccaneer Commission, Inc. supports educational and quality of life programs that foster community growth. Our Vision is to continue promoting civic and community pride for South Texas by producing high caliber community programs, economic impact, educational scholarships and eco-tourism to South Texas and Corpus Christi, Texas. Through its community involvement and programs, the Buccaneer Commission resolves to continue impacting the quality of life in Corpus Christi and the surrounding areas to the benefit of all our citizens.

Description

From its simple beginnings in 1938, Buc Days has grown into the premier festival event in Corpus Christi. In addition to the carnival, and the spectacular Illuminated Night Parade, the festivities now include a PRCA Rodeo, BBQ Challenge, a Competencia Folklorica, a Jr. Parade, a Stadium Show, Fireworks and various sporting and athletic events. With over 350,000 attendees each year, Buc Days is a tradition that has grown and flourished within our community. And, it is all for a great cause. The monies raised during Buc Days benefit the Buccaneer Commission Scholarship Fund providing scholarships for our local area youth.
