Mission Statement

F·E·G·S Education and Youth Services programs, which reach thousands of young people each year, offer creative and innovative solutions to address a diverse range of educational, family, personal and employment needs.

Description

As part of the Federation Employment and Guidance Services, Inc. Education & Youth Services Division, the WIA In-School Youth Employment Program provides career development, college exploration, academic remediation, and recreational activities to students aged 14-18 who attend the Bronx High School of Law, Government and Justice and The Eagle Academy for Young Men. The Program is dedicated to providing youth with an array of activities and learning experiences focusing on educational, vocational, social, cultural and emotional youth development. Our programs encourage both youth leadership and development through work readiness and career development workshops; summer employment and internships; college preparation and visits; math and reading skills development; tutoring services; engagement in cultural and recreational events and performances; and counseling and guidance. These varied after-school activities help promote success for youth as they transition into adulthood and become productive members of their communities.
