Mission Statement

The Friends of the South Orange Public Library is a nonprofit group of volunteers devoted to enhancing the services and activities of the library.

The goals of FOSOPL are :
  • To strengthen the relationship of the South Orange Public Library with the general public, schools and business community.
  • To increase community awareness of the Library through its activities and programming
  • To generate awareness in the Library’s educational, informational, and cultural mission.
  • To encourage participation in cultural and educational events that represent our diverse community.

Description

Friends of the SOPL work to effect change in our local library every day. Whether by assisting in the purchase of library materials, raising money for various programs througout the year, including the summer reading program, our volunterrs make things happen.
