Mission Statement

Founded in 1953, the Queens Child Guidance Center's mission is to nurture the emotional well-being of children and families in Queens.

Description

Queens Child Guidance Center is a dynamic, 51-year old family-focused non-profit organization. Central to all of our programming is a belief in the promise of positive relationships for children's progress and growth, and the commitment to support children in reaching their full potential. We are effective because we treasure the individual capacities of children and help them flourish within their families, schools, communities and cultural environment. We employ highly skilled bi-lingual and bi-cultural staff who love children and are dedicated to their happiness and success. The Center serves more than 10,000 children annually, ranging in age from newborn to 18 years. We help families by counseling the emotionally disturbed and substance abusing, intervening with families to protect children from abuse, visiting homes to support families coping with children at imminent risk of psychiatric hospitalization, and enhanching the literacy skills and development of children and youth. We invite individual donors, foundation and government to join us in uplifting our cherished children.
