Description

Our rescue mission, founded by Patricia and Franklin Sterner, began with the arrival of a blind horse named Mia in September of 1996. Soon other horses with various problems were brought to our door and we quickly built more stalls and modified existing buildings to accommodate them. Requests also came for help for other species and before long we found ourselves caring for goats, rabbits, chickens, cats and dogs and yes, even parrots.

The loving care which each animal who comes to Far Point receives includes diets and treatments geared specifically to his or her individual needs. Animals who are well enough may be adopted into loving homes. Others live out their lives at Far Point.

Far Point Animal Rescue is a non-profit corporation dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of animals in need. It is a loving alternative for those abused, neglected and homeless. Many come to us detoured from the slaughterhouse.

Some animals brought to Far Point will come to live out their lives in peacefulness. Others will be nursed back to wellness of body, mind and spirit and adopted to carefully selected loving homes to provide funds and space so that more of these animals may be served here.

The stable runs solely on donations, of which there are a limited number, and otherwise from the pockets of those few who take care of the horses. Your tax-deductible donations would help provide nourished food, clean housing facilities, professional veterinary care, farrier and dental care, emergency care and medications as needed.

Our philosophy is to be of service to all creatures great and small and help to make this a more peaceful and loving world in which we live.
