Mission Statement

Our organization will pursue ways to make a positive impact within the City of Chubbuck & its surrounding areas regarding:

1. Animal homelessness.

2. Spaying/neutering and

vaccination needs of homeless animals.

3. Finding safe & loving homes for homeless animals.

4. Any other animal related

issues that present themselves.

C.H.A.M.P.S. in Chubbuck strives to educate others on the importance of spaying/neutering and vaccinating animals as well the proper care for both a family pet and other animals within the our community.

Description

We take animals from the local shelters and house them in the adoption space at our local PETCO store. We have volunteers who help clean and maintain the adoption space 7 days a week.

When we have volunteers available we participate in the Nationwide Monthly Adoption Weekends at PETCO by bringing animals from the Chubbuck Facility to PETCO and having them available for adoption.

We work closely with other animal organizations in our area, such as the Pocatello Animal Shelter (in Pocatello, Idaho) and the Bannock Humane Society.

When there are no animals available to put into PETCO from the Chubbuck Facility we will pull adoptable animals at risk for euthanasia out of the Pocatello Animal Shelter. They have also worked with us so we are able to Micro Chip every animal that goes into the PETCO adoption space.

The Bannock Humane Society allows us to run each of the unfixed animals we take through their program so that each of them gets Spayed/Neutered and Vaccinated.

Our Volunteers also assist at the Bannock Humane Society weekly shot clinic nights.

We also volunteer to help at both the Bannock Humane Society’s and the Pocatello Animal Shelter’s fundraisers.

We use donated, raised and grant funds to: 1. Financially assist those who adopt a shelter animal, from any area facility that does not require Spaying/Neutering or Vaccinations, get those animals fixed and vaccinated. 2. Financially assist those in our local community who need help paying to get their family pet fixed. 3. Help cover medical needs (within reason) for shelter animals. 4. Help assist with Veterinarian cost (on a case by case basis) for those in our local community.
