Mission Statement

The Museum of the American Railroad endeavors to provide visitors with an educational and entertaining experience; emphasizing the social, economic, and technical impact of the railroad on our society.

Description

Programs and historical interupratations are desinged to provide a better understanding of the railroad's role in the settlement of the nation, spread of cultures, development of industry, and their relationship to local history. This is accomplished, in part, through stewardship of the museum's priceless collection of rolling stock, structures, and other railroad related artifacts which are held as cultural assests for the benefit of the community.
