Mission Statement

The Wissahickon Restoration Volunteers (WRV) is an organization dedicated to the preservation of the beauty and wildness of the Wissahickon Valley through environmental restoration. A goal of WRV is the sustainable use of the valley as a natural resource by educating members of the community on responsible environmental stewardship through experiential learning.

Description

WRV coordinates a community-based ecosystem management program that relies on volunteers to implement the hands-on restoration activities. WRV routinely engages in the control and removal of invasive species, native plant conservation, reforestation, trail maintenance, preservation of wildlife habitat, and trash removal to protect the natural character of the valley. Both individuals and groups are welcome to become involved. Interested individuals can stay informed about upcoming opportunties by checking our website: http://www.wissahickonrestorationvolunteers.org or joining our email notification list. Group leaders are invited to contact us at wrv.info@rhd.org to schedule a specific workday.
