The staff, parents, and students of Oak View School believe that all children can learn to the best of their ability. We will work together to make Oak View School a safe place to learn. We will respect everyone in our school and community, and value their individual differences. The staff, parents, and students of Oak View School will work together to encourage students to become life-long learners.

Description

Oak View Elementary School is a school filled with 677 vibrant and enthusiastic kids from various backgrounds. Oak View is qualified as a Title 1 school, which is defined as a school that has 40% or more of its students coming from low-income families. Despite this income barrier, Oak View has been placed on the Illinois Honor Roll as a Spotlight School--a school that has a high poverty rate, but a high performance level in the standardized tests. It is the only one in the Valley View School District with this honor.
