Mission Statement

Almost Home Foundation is a nonprofit, all volunteer, no-kill animal rescue funded solely by private donations. We have no paid employees. Almost Home Foundation is committed to reducing the number of homeless and unwanted companion animals through education programs, spay /neuter programs, and the responsible re-homing of dogs and cats through adoption programs. Almost Home Foundation does not have a physical building to house animals. We rely on volunteers who dedicate their time, homes and hearts for our animals until permanent, loving homes can be found. Adoptable animals in our care will be kept as long as it takes to find a suitable home. Almost Home Foundation does not discriminate against animals based on age, breed, color of fur or physical disability. Our ultimate goal is to eliminate the need to ever have a healthy adoptable animal euthanized.

The listing was for a director position but they said via email that no one outside the business would be considered for any leadership position. Bait and switch

I have been a Dog Walker with Almost Home Foundation for about 5 years now. I do go every Saturday (except for about 3 Saturdays in September- vacation time). I love this organization. The members are wonderful and so big hearted, they would do anything for the "fur babies" most of the dogs are fostered very few stay in the kennel. Every 2 weeks for the past 6 months we get a transport from Alabama.( since they do not believe on fixing their animals and it is a high killing state). we still rescue all dogs and cats in this area too. I never saw such sweet and well behave dogs ...It is like they know they are safe with us. We always need volunteers, donations. I encourage any body who lives in this area to come and visit us. I have been volunteering for Almost Home Foundation on and off since December 2011. I love handling the dogs at the adoption events on Saturday. It gives me such a warm feeling once a dog is adopted. It's so rewarding, and the dogs learn great socialization skills which is necessary for a successful adoption. The people there are great!

It is a very well put together organization that helps homeless animals find a home. I would recommend this to someone who has very good writing skills and the time to put towards this wonderful organization. BE the voice for the animals and volunteer!

This is a great place to volunteer! I helped out by walking the dogs. They really need volunteers, since right now they can barely get all the dogs walked each day. I love the animals, they are all very well behaved and adoptable, and I would recommend this chance to hang out with the dogs to anyone!

Almost Home is a fantastic rescue organization . They truly care about the dogs and cats that they rescue and find new homes for. Their volunteers recognize the dedication of the organization and display that same dedication. I have been volunteering for AHF for over one and a half years and have seen their organization rescue and re home thousands of dogs. Their fosters are the voice of their dogs. I am proud to volunteer my time to such a great organization.

Almost Home is a great organization that helps thousands of animals each year. I've been volunteering as a dog handler for close to four years now and absolutely love it. The people are passionate about animals and do everything they can to save as many pets as possible. But we need more help! We're always in need of more foster homes. So please, if you can offer your home to a canine friend for just a lil while - contact us!!
