Description
Soldiers in the South Carolina State Guard (SCSG) are sworn members of the South Carolina Military Department. Applicants must be South Carolina residents, be in good health and physically capable of performing the SCSG mission.
The SCSG is definitely a commitment. Our soldiers are required to attend monthly drills. Also, in order to keep our professional standards, there are periodic continuing education requirements. These could include on-site SCSG Schools, training seminars and online courses. In the event of a State emergency, you could be called to State Active Duty for days or weeks at a time. You will find that your service hours will add up quickly as you serve side-by -side with your National Guard counterparts in a variety of missions.
