Mission Statement

The Welcome Centers comprise a network of supports commited to complementing refugee students' K-12 academic pursuits and involving refugee families in the life of the community.

The Welcome Centers' central focus is to link recently arrived Montogomery Country and Dayton Public School refugee students to volunteer mentors and tutors.

The Welcome Centers will offer supports in the form of volunteer, parent, and teacher training, volunteer interpreters, tutoring materials, and periodic celebrations.

The vision of the Welcome Centers is to capitalize on existing community supports, city initiatives, and economic opportunities to bring together students, families, and community members in projects they care about.
