To promote independent and meaningful living for older adults through direct services and programs in the home and community. the mission on The Hearing Discovery Center is to help older adults respond to the leading disability of aging - hearing loss- through support, counseling, informational resources, educational programs and a free lending library of assistive listening devices

Description

The Seniors Community Services serves older adults in mainly the Delaware County area and does go into Philadelphia a little. The Hearing Discover Center services the needs of the hearing impaired in the Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia areas. We present educational programs on hearing loss and the use of assistive devices, we attend health fairs and senior expos to spread the word of who we are and we have consumers come to our office to help select assistive devices to try out in the privacy of their own homes. As a branch of the Pennsylvania Institute on Assistive Technology, we can also help consumers gets loans of equipment not in our library from the state library.
