Mission Statement

AGAR Elder Support Services (AGAR) is a non-profit organization that strives to address the many crosscutting issues surrounding the problems faced by Ethiopian elderly. Its multi-pronged strategies revolve around the following major objectives. 1) Design and implement appropriate training coursework that focus upon proper care-giving to the elderly (in collaboration with experts), 2) Create employment opportunities for successful graduates including elderly students who complete appropriate modules. 3) Effectively interpret and implement policies that deal with elderly issues. 4) Secure resources required for realizing elderly related objectives. 5) Create appropriate project frameworks for the active participation of stakeholders concerned with elderly issues. 6) Play a significant role in advocacy and awareness-creation on issues that pertain to the elderly. 7) Launch a network of elderly care centers in close collaboration with pertinent stakeholders.
