Mission Statement
The mission of the Veterans Employment Alliance is to
extend a helping hand to Veterans and Families in Crisis
and will commit themselves to sobriety, non-violence,
and working for personal change. We will be the most
recognized private veterans transition program in
America.
Our goal is to eliminate homelessness and
unemployment among our fellow
warriors and we will leave no one behind.
Description
In addition to the complex set of factors affecting the
homeless population...job layoffs, substance abuse,
and an extreme shortage of affordable housing and
lack of access to health care...a large number of
displaced and at-risk veterans live with lingering
effects of combat related posttraumatic
stress disorder (PTSD). These hardships, often
compounded by loss of family and social support
networks, make the issue of homelessness a difficult
challenge. Our belief in V eterans helping Veterans through
shared experiences and treating the whole individual -
mentally, physically and spiritually - is why our
program will be successful in empowering homeles
s veterans and families in crisis to embrace and
maintain independent living and self-sufficiency.
