Mission Statement

The PKD Foundation is dedicated to finding effective treatment and a cure for Polycystic Kidney Disease, the most common, life-threatening genetic disease affecting 1:400 to 1:500 people, newborns, children and adults. Over 60% of patients with PKD develop kidney failure for which dialysis and transplant are the only options. There is no treatment or cure for PKD.

Description

The National Capital Chapter is an all-volunteer organization of patients, family and friends, dedicated to raising awareness of polycystic kidney disease in the community, supporting patients with PKD and raising funds to find an effective treatment and cure for PKD.
