Description
CJH Educational Grant Services, Inc. (CJH) is a commercial organization that has received a federal grant (the Compassion Capital Fund Demonstration grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (USDHHS)) to serve emerging and start-up faith and community-based nonprofit agencies in the state of North Carolina. We provide mentoring, training, Technical Assistance (TA) and offer sub-grants up to $20,000 per agency to develop their internal capacity to better serve clients in need. CJH is one of only forty-five agencies serving as Intermediaries for USDHHS in the nation to conduct these services. Our local program is called the Compassion Capital North Carolina (CCNC) project and serves nonprofits less than two years in existence with organizational capacity-building training needs. Each year we identify up to thirty (30) agencies needing management training and infrastructure funds to develop their abilities to improve services, expand, and better serve clients. These agencies must serve high-need populations such as the elderly, at-risk youth, and the homeless. The underlying premise is that their clients are also in poverty.
