Mission Statement
The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.
Description
Subject Line: Volunteer with the American Cancer Society to end breast cancer.
On October 20, the American Cancer Society will be Making Strides Against Breast Cancer in Washington, DC. We will be joined by thousands of Greater Washington residents on the National Mall for a 5K walk to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer. Making Strides provides a powerful and inspiring opportunity to unite as a community to honor breast cancer survivors, raise awareness about what we can do to stay well, and raise money to help in the fight against breast cancer. But, we can’t do it alone.
Will you help us make Making Strides DC a success?! We are looking for volunteers for the morning of the walk on October 20th. Individual volunteers as well as groups are welcome. The more the merrier!
From helping register participants to helping pass out refreshments, we need your time and talents to help make this event a HUGE success! Every volunteer will be an integral part of the Making Strides team!
Join the American Cancer Society to create a world with less breast cancer and more birthdays!
If you are interested in volunteering on October 20 th, please contact Wanda Frazier for more information and to register as a volunteer. If you are interested in a specific task on the day-of, please let us know so we can give you priority.
I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Thanks,
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer DC
