The Salvation Army needs your voices! We are looking for volunteers to help us recruit bell ringers for our Red Kettle Campaign. This campaign helps to fund the food, shelter, and services we provide, with 100% of proceeds being invested right here in our Hampton Roads community. Callers will reach out to individuals, companies, and clubs/groups via phone in hopes of garnering bell ringers for our Red Kettle Fundraiser. Volunteers will dial and read from a pre-prepared script while keeping a log of their interactions to be submitted and reviewed by management. Letters certifying volunteer hours can be provided. This can take place anytime now through 12/23 via virtual/work from home. There is currently no hours minimum or maximum, just as much help as you're willing to offer! Please assist us in growing our bell ringing army and giving back to our community! *The Salvation Army cannot provide reimbursement for Message & data rates, please consult with your phone plan before agreeing to volunteer*

Support our Portsmouth Youth Music Program!

Do you enjoy working with children and want to volunteer to support an incredible youth music program? Come volunteer with our Portsmouth music group! We are looking for helping hands to assist with preparing/serving dinner and/or transporting students to and from the program. As always, we are more than open to musicians and musically inclined volunteers that would like to help out with instruction. We meet from 5:30pm-7:30pm on Thursday evenings. Volunteer instructors would need to arrive by 5:00-5:15pm if they are assisting in the program. For those who might be interested in volunteering as a van driver, we start pickups around 4pm and drop offs after the program concludes. Join us as we support our community and give our children the gift of music! **All volunteers working with children must complete a mandatory background check as well as a brief 45 minute Safe From Harm training before the start date**

Angel Tree 2023

Tis the season (or it will be soon at least) to volunteer for the holidays! Join us as we prepare for our annual Angel Tree gift distribution, where we will give out thousands of presents to local families that need a little extra help around Christmas time. Volunteers will organize our Christmas Depot, stuff stockings, sort donations, and fill Angel Bags with presents so that each child here in Hampton Roads can wake up to the magic of gifts under the tree on Christmas morning! Ring the bell for Red Kettle!

We want YOU for The Salvation Army. We are in need of volunteers to ring the bell for our annual Red Kettle Fundraiser! This is by far our most important volunteer opportunity of the year, as proceeds from this fundraiser go directly back into our Hampton Roads community by funding our services that allow us to provide food, shelter, and financial assistance to our brothers and sisters here locally. By volunteering even just two hours of your time, you can raise enough money to feed a family of four for an entire week. You can choose the most convenient location, date, and time slot for you and/or your group at Register to Ring. Come spread the holiday cheer and give back to our community by volunteering to ring the bell!
