Mission Statement

The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. We work tirelessly to find cures and ensure patients can access the lifesaving treatments they need. When someone experiences the fear and uncertainty of a blood cancer diagnosis, we provide hope, compassion, education and support. Our impact is felt beyond blood cancer. The breakthrough treatments we helped advance for blood cancers are now improving the lives of people affected by many types of cancer.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Southern Florida Chapter was founded in 1972 to serve residents who have been touched by one of the blood cancers: leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. The chapter serves Miami-Dade, Broward, Monroe, Lee and Collier counties in Florida. The chapter also serves Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.

It is a good cause and every volunteer there has a good reason. I know people with Leukemia and we are grateful they are survivors.

I am a mother of a chidhood cancer survivor. my son had A.L.L. acute lmphoma leukemia. he needs other childhood cancer survivors for group therapy's counciling. to help him understand what he went through and what he is going through with the long term side effects of the toxins and poisins that come with chemo. he is not alone if there is no groups in the plantation fl area i would luv to start one for our children with the help of the Leukemia and Lympha society of south florida
