Mission Statement

Downey Side's philosophy is rooted in the conviction that every child deserves the right to a permanent and loving family. Children grow better in families. It is our purpose to work in partnership with the foster care systems across the United States as a licensed non-profit adoption agency to place America's waiting children who otherwise would remain homeless. We are dedicated to family life for all children and strongly believe that a healthy permanent relationship is the best prevention against homelessness. Downey Side is a non-sectarian, non-profit agency that does not charge thousands of dollars for adoption services. The toltal cost to the client is 300-500.00, NOTHING else. Clients have total access to our assistance, even after their adoption is finalized, FREE of charge. The agency has adoption offices in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Minnesota and Missouri, and contracts with many other locations throughout the country.
