Mission Statement
Minnesota Sheltie Rescue is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to finding the best and last homes for Shelties in need.
Description
Shelties in our program receive thorough veterinary care, including spay/neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, and additional medical care as needed. We do not operate a shelter. The Shelties live with dedicated foster families who assess the needs of the dogs to determine the most suitable home. Foster families and adoptive homes are carefully screened so that the family and Sheltie can be carefully matched. We provide resources specific to Shelties on training, basic care, and veterinary care.
We offer specialized training classes for our adopters, as well as community outreach when a Sheltie is lost in the community. Volunteers are available for community programs on Shelties, caring for a dog, humane education, and adopting a rescue dog.
