Mission Statement

The Sequoia Big Picture High School's (SBPHS) mission is to educate high schoool students, including those who may not have succeeded in more traditional educational settings, in an environment tha focuses on the needs of each individual student. Students at this school will graduate as self-directed, independnet learners with critical thinking skills.They will graduate prepared for adulthood, college and a successful entry into the workforce.They will be informed citizens able to participate in their community and the larger democratic society

Description

The Sequoia Big Picture High School is a charter school that provides an exciting, innovative alternative for students in the Sequoia Union High School District.

At this small (200+)high school, students have the opportunity to design their own learning program, work closely with an advisors, explore interests through independent projects and internships in the community.

All students are prepared to meet the California A-G requirements to the University of California, perform at the proficient or advanced levels on the Califnia Standars Tests and pass the CAHSEE exam.THe foucs is on preparing for college and a meaningful career pathway, All students take college entrance exams and apply to at least one college or post-secondary program.
