The mission of the Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture, Inc. is to manage a rich fabric of vibrant educational, artistic, historical, cultural, environmental and recreational programs at the park in a manner that is attractive and accessible to a diverse population of users, financially self-sustaining, and sensitive to the needs of the neighboring community.

Description

Founded in 1891 as a National Chautauqua Assembly, it served for many years as the Washington area's premier amusement park. Today, Glen Echo Park offers year-round activities in dance, theater and the arts for residents of the Washington metropolitan area and visitors from across the country. Year round classes are offered in a wide array of mediums including: glass blowing and fusion, painting, pottery, crafts for children and adults, music and dance for all ages and theater. Among the Park's most popular activities are weekly dances in the renovated Spanish Ballroom, performances of The Puppet Co. and Adventure Theatre, programs sponsored by Discovery Creek Children's Museum and special events such as the annual Washington Folk Festival, Then and Wow festival and the Labor Day art show. Glen Echo Park works closely with the National Park Service in maintaining the historic integrity of this natural park site.
