Lifeforce in Later Years (LiLY) provides life-affirming programs by directly engaging the issues that face elderly people in need. By connecting elders with volunteers in forming friendships, stimulating groups, celebratory events, and addressing individual needs, LiLY strives in helping elders to remain active in their community while living in their longtime homes. LiLY supports "villages" in New York City's Morningside Heights and West Harlem serving elders who generally are 80+ years old.
LifeForce in Later Years provide life-affirming programs, all aimed at confronting the issues that face elderly people in need, including:
- a culture that has made invisible the plight of the very old and their families - an inadequate health care system - living in a time when the number of elders 80+ who are living alone is mushrooming - nursing homes without the capacity to fill the array of individual needs of elder residents
