Mission Statement

Oak Hill Elementary (OHE) School was established in 1974, with the stated mission of preparing each child for life and challenging each child to achieve. Children in grades pre-kindergarten through fifth are taught in a loving, structured and stimulating environment. When your child enters Oak Hill Elementary, you can be assured that they will be nurtured in both academic and social areas, with a focus on a well-rounded curriculum that sets them up for a lifetime of learning.

Oak Hill Elementary has a committed staff of teachers and administrators who focus on both academics and social aspects of learning. OHE provides opportunities for all students to reach their highest potential, while respecting the needs and interests of each student.

Oak Hill Elementary is also known for having outstanding parent and community involvement; many of the great programs that occur at OHE are parent-led and managed. It’s the interaction of the community and the involvement of many that truly makes the school special.

My kids are in 5th and 3rd grade and have been at Oak Hill their entire elementary careers. We have had fabulous, caring teachers and have been helped by attentive administrators. I have volunteered in several ways at the school and have always felt that my time and efforts were appreciated. I love seeing the difference that volunteers make at Oak Hill!

The PTA, teachers and staff are so dedicated to the kids. There are so many happy faces, it is very rewarding to get to know the kids and all involved in this wonderful school.

Oak Hill Elementary School SOARING Reading Program is an outstanding volunteer-based program that helps the struggling readers at OHE. WIth a 40% disadvantaged population, they maintain an exemplary status, which is remarkable. Programs like SOARING help us with that rating. Early intervention in reading has been shown to help kids succeed through college and beyond.

Excellent school! Very involved PTA, principal with high expectations and dedicated teachers. Dr. Mitchell provides what is needed for all students - challenging high achievers and ensuring tutoring programs and support when students need it.

I recommend volunteering with Oak Hill Elementary because there are great people there who really care about the children. The SOARING reading program is a great way to help children improve their reading skills. It is great feeling to help a child learn to read better!

The teachers and staff at OHE are so dedicated to our children. It is a wonderful place for learning. The PTA is awesome and works well with the faculty to make every child succeed!
