Boise Valley Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and our community to provide decent affordable homes and to promote responsible home ownership for people in need.
Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. HFHI seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.
Habitat for Humanity invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need.
As a Christian housing ministry, Habitat for Humanity International has displayed an unwavering commitment to the elimination of poverty housing worldwide. Boise Valley Habitat for Humanity was formed in 1990 as an affiliate of this international effort.
Boise Valley Habitat for Humanity has become a part of the solution of eradicating poverty housing by building simple, decent, affordable homes in partnership with families in need. Since its beginning, our local Habitat for Humanity affiliate has adhered to the mission of "building homes, building a strong local community, and building God's kingdom with faith and love." Our affiliate has helped 37 families build new homes, we have provided the opportunity for hundreds of local volunteers to help build a better community, and we have unfailingly promoted the Christian principle of helping others who are less fortunate.
Habitat for Humanity does not build homes for people in need, but WITH people in need - as partners. As an ecumenical housing ministry, everyone who shares a concern for the poorly sheltered is welcome. All faiths, ages, races, walks of life, and cultures are welcome. Every Habitat volunteer has a positive impact on our home building process in their own unique way.
