Mission Statement

The BVCOG GED Program assists adults 17 years of age or older in acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary to earn a GED and to transition to employment, higher education and/or vocational training. The program encourages students to become self-sufficient, independent, and successful by obtaining their GED. Our program provides one-on-one work in a computer-based program to help prepare them for the test-day. We teach lessons for the Math and Writing tests, as well as work with the students for the Reading, Science, and Social Studies tests. We also provide one-on-one tutoring every Friday to help our students get that extra assistance to pass the test. We believe that having a GED will help our students in the future, because the majority of available jobs require a GED or High School Diploma for new hires.
