Mission Statement

The mission of Rosedale Congregational Church's Healthy Kids Club is to promote healthy habits in elementary school children through an after-school program which includes cooking classes, active games, healthy snacks, crafts and educational programs.

Description

The current Healthy Kids Club is for 3rd and 4th graders from the Frank Rushton Elementary School. On Wednesday afternoons at 2:00 p.m., when the students have early dismissal, the children are walked over to the church and gather around tables for healthy snacks. They divide into small groups for cooking classes, art projects, and active games. At the end of the afternoon, there is a quiet time for caring adults to connect with the children over homework, board games or just plain conversation. The children are picked up by their parents at 5:30 p.m.

In the future, there will be other Healthy Kids Clubs for other age groups and on other days.
