Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
To be illiterate is to be cut off from yourself and the world community. It is to live a half-life mired in frustration and unfilfilled human potential. The Foundation for Alfred Ezeatu Memorial Libraries and Human Development Centers Inc., by way of collecting books, raising funds and establishing various levels of libraries in Nigeria, plays its part in the transformation and empowerment of the people of Nigeria. We also create incentives for hardworking students by organizing annual essay competition at the college and high school levels.
One big difficulty in most African countries is the lack of books. Libraries are scarse. This makes education tedious and uninteresting to many people. This Foundation college college text books and library related materials. We also conduct fund-raising to enable us ship these books to Nigeria. In Nigeria we establish various levels of libraries (college, high school, children and community libraries). By so doing, we make reading materials available to both students and non-students citizens. This foundation also undertakes many community development activies including educating for civil and human rights, community/police relation, preservation of life-giving cultural heritage, etc.
