Pro Action of Steuben and Yates, Inc. was established as a result of the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 and has been serving the people of Steuben and Yates Counties for more than 40 years. We are part of a nationwide network of 1,100 Community Action Agencies. Community Action Agencies are non-profit organizations that work to alleviate the causes and conditions of poverty at the local level by providing programs that are specific to the needs of the local community. The Community Action Promise states, "Community Action changes people's lives, embodies the spirit of hope, improves communities, and makes America a better place to live. We care about the entire community, and we are dedicated to helping people help themselves and each other."
