Description

Genesis House, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3), tax exempt organization. We are supported by donations from individuals, churches, civic organizations, and corporations. Some projects and services have been funded in part by the State of Florida, Department of Children and Families. Over the past 35 years Genesis House has provided shelter to over 10,500 women and children.

We have three Shelter Homes. Genesis House I shelters mothers with children, who are homeless or in transition. Some of these mothers are also pregnant. These residents stay fairly short-term while they arrange more permanent living arrangements or make educational plans for themselves. Genesis House I can shelter up to 15 women and children. If the mother enrolls in school and she has been a responsible resident while at Genesis House I, she can move to Genesis House II where she can live long-term while completing her GED, taking vocational classes or attending college. Genesis House II has 8 family unit rooms which can shelter 8 mothers with children. Genesis House III provides shelter for 6 homeless pregnant women. The Genesis House III residents often move to Genesis House II after delivery.
