Description
Shiloh provides a Christian summer camp where children from New York City's toughest neighborhoods can enjoy games, camp outs, and other activities that enrich their lives socially and spiritually. Camp Shiloh is 90 miles northwest of New York City in the Catskill Mountains. Its 104 wooded acres has cabins for 80 campers and 30 staff members per session plus a baseball field, swimming pool, basketball courts, recreation hall, Arts and Crafts building, three outdoor pavilions for classes and several hiking trails. Most campers, ranging in age from 9 to 15, attend camp through full scholarships provided by supporters. 320 children from urban communities of New York City, Long Island, and Connecticut attend one of five sessions between mid-June and August. They are led by a competent caring staff who work hard to celebrate and build on the talents and abilities of each camper.
